No matter how hard you try, unhealthy foods are almost impossible to avoid. Most of us are creatures of habit. We buy the same foods from the same grocery store, prepare the same recipes over and over, and live within our own familiar routines. But if you’re serious about eating healthier and losing weight, you need to shake it up, change those bad eating habits, and start thinking differently about your diet and lifestyle.
You can start with updating your kitchen cabinets. Try to gradually incorporate healthier superfoods in your cabinets, eventually eliminating the all the Junk. Head into the kitchen, and get a large trash bag. Open up all of the kitchen cabinets, and get ready to throw out your junk foods and replace them with healthy alternatives!
Throw out all of your obviously terrible food like candy, chips, cookies, soda, sugar-laden fruit juice! Ok, maybe leave one box of cookies around and slowly wean off of them. Build yourself up to it. I think quitting cold turkey will set you up for failure, moderation is key. Don’t deprive yourself too much. There’s no faster way to make you want an unhealthy food than forcing yourself to give it up forever. Find an alternative, or buy smaller packages so you can treat yourself. Just make sure those occasions are really treats and not the norm.
